Metallic Inks

Metallic ink is easily one of the most striking coating effects SFXC has available. If you're looking for a luxury or stand-out effect, metallic ink is the product to add shiny brilliance to any project! In bright weather or the right light, it's an excellent choice to highlight large areas of detail, such as fonts.

Metallic inks are inks combined with a metallic pigment flake. As the ink dries, the metal particles rise to the top of the coating and then reflect ambient light.

Our product is water based and ideal for screen printing or on paper, board and textiles.

Metallic ink can produce a less vibrant result on uncoated, rougher paper or card compared to coated alternatives such as glossy paper. This is because uncoated materials absorb the ink into the grain of the paper more readily, meaning the metallic effect can be reduced.

However, if your brief does call for flat/matte paper or board, make two or more printing passes. These inks are more opaque compared to other inks. This means you can use any colour of paper or board you want. However, darker bases work extremely well by helping the shine to stand loud and proud. For instance, black and gold is a fantastic combination.

Our special Boujee Metallic ink changes colour with a simple touch! We have Gold, Bronze and Copper varieties available that all change to silver when heated to 28C!
